Angela would sit in meetings gripping her pen underneath the table praying nobody would ask her a question.
Not because she didn’t know the answer.
Not because she wasn’t capable.
She had so much to say.
Ideas. Opinions. Experience. Intelligence.
But the thought of people looking at her made her stomach knot. She could feel her face burning if attention came onto her. She’d rehearse answers over and over in her head… and still stay silent.
Because all she could think about was the weight.

Every glance felt like judgement.

But underneath all of that is usually something much deeper.
Shame.
Self-criticism.
Emotional overwhelm.
A painful relationship with themselves.

And yes, those things matter.
But emotional eating and unhealthy patterns around food are rarely just about food itself.
So often, the weight people are carrying is emotional.
The guilt.

The constant self-judgement.

And the harder someone fights themselves, the more trapped they often feel.
